OP Mainnet adopts OP Succinct as Optimism charts the Superchain's path to ZK
Today, we're announcing that Optimism is partnering with Succinct to bring ZK to the Superchain. OP Succinct will become a preferred ZK proving solution for OP Stack rollups. As part of this partnership, Optimism's flagship chain, OP Mainnet, will integrate OP Succinct, making it one of the largest rollups to transition to ZK proving.
This extends Succinct's reach to 90% of the rollup market. The Ethereum rollup ecosystem is consolidating around ZK with Succinct as critical infrastructure.
ZK Rollups are the New Default
As the Ethereum ecosystem matures, L2s are looking for ways to differentiate, whether through privacy, app-specific efficiency, ultra-low latency, or stronger security guarantees. ZK validity proofs unlock capabilities like fast finality, cryptographic security, and deeper interoperability with Ethereum. Mantle and Celo have already made the transition, with OP Mainnet to follow soon.
The direction is clear. The optimistic-first era of L2s is giving way to a ZK-native future.
OP Succinct Makes ZK Accessible
Building ZK systems used to require deep cryptography expertise: custom circuits, specialized teams, and long development cycles. SP1, the most advanced, secure, and trusted zkVM in production, changed that. Succinct's zkVM lets developers write application logic in Rust (or any language that compiles to RISC-V) and generate ZK proofs without touching cryptography.
In 2024, we collaborated with OP Labs to bring this technology to the OP Stack. The result was OP Succinct, a seamless way to upgrade any OP Stack chain to a fully-proved ZK rollup with validity proofs. We even created a “Lite” version of OP Succinct that unlocks ZK fraud proofs for the dispute module.
Today, OP Succinct is the most widely adopted path to ZK for OP Stack rollups, securing billions in TVL for leading OP Stack teams like Celo, Mantle, and more.

Optimism has formally partnered with Succinct to bring ZK to the Superchain. OP Succinct will be a preferred ZK proving solution for OP Stack rollups. In the coming months, Optimism's flagship chain, OP Mainnet, will integrate OP Succinct.
This partnership unlocks critical capabilities for teams building on the OP Stack, giving teams like Base, Unichain, and Ink a path towards ZK, critical for security and easy maintenance.
- Fast withdrawals. OP Succinct reduces finality from the standard seven-day challenge window to minutes. Users and applications no longer need to wait. Bridging, withdrawals, and cross-chain messaging happen at speeds that mature chains demand.
- Low-cost proving. Through the Succinct Prover Network, teams can access ZK proofs without building or maintaining their own proving infrastructure. The network handles proof generation with best-in-class economics, letting teams focus on their core product.
- Cryptographic security. OP Succinct transforms optimistic rollups into Type-1 zkEVMs with full ZK validity proofs. Validity proofs guarantee correctness with cryptographic certainty.
OP Mainnet, with its $2B in TVL, will integrate OP Succinct, serving as a powerful endorsement for other OP Stack teams. This makes OP Mainnet one of the largest chains to adopt ZK validity proofs, bringing Succinct’s TVS to $5.5B across 35+ customers.

With this partnership, Succinct now covers ZK proving for 90% of the rollup market by TVS.
