SP1 Hypercube Is Now Live on Mainnet

SP1 Hypercube is the most advanced, secure, and trusted zkVM in production. Built by the first team to prove Ethereum in real time.

Today, SP1 Hypercube goes live on mainnet, marking a turning point for the industry.

The Ethereum Foundation set an ambitious vision for L1 zkEVM with clear criteria for real-time proving and security. SP1 Hypercube is already outpacing the roadmap. Real-time proving is no longer a research goal. It’s now production-ready infrastructure, available to any developer.

Get started with SP1 Hypercube and generate fast, cheap, and secure proofs in minutes.

The Most Advanced zkVM in Production

In May 2025, we made history as the first team to prove Ethereum in real time. Six months later, in November 2025, we doubled down. SP1 Hypercube became the first zkVM to prove 99.7% of Ethereum blocks in under 12 seconds with just 16 NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs.

This represents extraordinary performance gains.

  • 4x faster than SP1 Turbo for compute-heavy workloads
  • 2x faster for precompile-heavy Ethereum proving workloads
  • 12.5x GPU efficiency improvement in just 6 months (from 200 GPUs down to 16)

These results stem from novel cryptographic techniques developed by Succinct's team. SP1 Hypercube is the first zkVM built entirely on a multilinear polynomial-based proof system, rather than traditional univariate STARKs. At the heart of SP1 Hypercube is our novel Jagged PCS (Polynomial Commitment Scheme), which enables a "pay only for what you use" architecture.

Real-time proving is now accessible to everyone. A cluster capable of proving 99.7% of mainnet blocks can be built for under $100,000 with optimized hardware, making home proving a reality.

The First zkVM with Formal Verification

Succinct’s proving systems already secure billions of dollars in TVL for leading teams like Mantle, Polygon, Celestia, and Celo. To prepare SP1 Hypercube for mainnet, we needed to raise the bar for production-readiness and security even higher.

SP1 Hypercube is the first zkVM with complete formal verification of all core RISC-V constraints. In collaboration with Nethermind Security and the Ethereum Foundation, we've mathematically verified all 62 RISC-V opcodes against the official RISC-V Sail specification.

SP1 Hypercube is also the first general-purpose hash-based zkVM to eliminate reliance on proximity gap conjectures. The Ethereum Foundation offered a prize to resolve these conjectures. SP1 Hypercube achieves uncompromising correctness by removing this dependency entirely.

Furthermore, multiple independent third-party security audits have been completed and passed, ensuring SP1 Hypercube meets the production-ready security bar required for L1 deployment. For sensitive computations, SP1-2FA offers TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) protection with a single line of code.

The zkVM Securing $3B+ in Production

Leading teams trust SP1. SP1 Turbo has secured over $3 billion in total value locked and has generated more than 6 million proofs to date.

OP Succinct and OP Succinct Lite, our flagship products for OP Stack rollups, enable full ZK validity proofs that turn optimistic rollups into Type-1 zkEVMs. Multiple teams are using OP Succinct in production today, with our Arbitrum integration launching soon. More than 35 partners are building with SP1, benefiting from the ability to write programs in standard Rust and speeding up development 100x faster than custom circuits.

"We’ve been blown away by the performance of SP1 and the Prover Network.

Before Succinct, we wrote custom circuits with 1000s of lines of code. Now, we maintain a simple Rust program and generate proofs quickly and affordably.

My only regret is that we didn’t switch sooner.”

Shipping an L1 zkEVM with the Ethereum Foundation

In July 2025, the Ethereum Foundation published criteria for realtime proving targeting L1 zkEVM deployment. A few months later, the EF called for security to match speed.

SP1 Hypercube already delivers on the toughest speed criteria – latency, CAPEX, and power – with a clear line of sight to the rest.

We are working directly with the EF cryptography team on soundcalc integration and future security milestones. The Ethereum Foundation's December post specifically cites JaggedPCS as an example of "recent cryptographic advances" that make security and proof size targets tractable. SP1 Hypercube is built on these foundations invented by Succinct cryptographers.

These achievements unlock Ethereum's 2026+ roadmap. As described by Justin Drake, this will allow Ethereum to scale horizontally, unlocking 1 gigagas per second, a critical threshold for real-world use cases.
