Phala Network is the First AI Agent Rollup Powered by Succinct on Mainnet

Phala’s ZK rollup settles payments for their TEE network on Ethereum with the ease and efficiency of SP1. With high-throughput applications like AI agents that require fast payment settlement for use of the Phala TEE network, Phala had unique needs that required reliability and a consistent developer experience. 

Their chain originally began as a Polkadot parachain, but it became increasingly clear that a ZK rollup on Ethereum was the right solution for them. Scaling their network’s payments with ZK makes their best-in-class TEE infrastructure available to many more developers to build frontier AI applications. Phala chose to deploy an OP Succinct rollup, in partnership with Succinct and Conduit, which is live on mainnet!

This is the first ZK rollup that uses the OP Succinct framework that is live on mainnet today. This allows Phala to unlock: 

• Full EVM equivalence and fast finality — The rollup is a type-1 zkEVM, empowering Phala to leverage the world class Ethereum open source infrastructure and tooling ecosystem. The rollup inherits the security guarantees of Ethereum. OP Succinct also dramatically reduces finality times for users from 7 days to hours, enabling unprecedented efficiency and allowing a brand new suite of AI applications.
• Easy deployment with Conduit and Succinct  — The Phala team was able to quickly deploy their chain and become a ZK rollup. This allows them to benefit from Ethereum indexing, testing, and smart contracts without having to build these tools from scratch. 
• Low-cost proof generation, making OP Succinct affordable — With Succinct’s proving infrastructure, proof generation is affordable and allows the rollup to utilize proofs reliably for low cost.
